Integrator Software

Integration of our system

The integration of our system into existing or new software applications is an important requirement for many customers.
We support and complete every project from A to Z, with a focus on technical compatibility as well as your project’s specific requirements.

Depending on the communication protocol of the existing systems and the degree of interaction required, we can establish a connection between the energy system and the building or process management system in various ways.

Commonly used methods include:

  • API (Application Programming Interface) – for direct and secure data linking between systems.
  • Modbus – via RTU RS485 or TCP/IP, suitable for industrial automation and energy equipment.
  • MQTT Broker – lightweight messaging system for real-time data communication and IoT applications.
  • Other common protocols – depending on the specific equipment or software already in use.

By using these protocols, we can exchange real-time data, control systems, and apply monitoring, so that the energy system works optimally with existing building or process management systems. This guarantees efficient operation and maximum utilization of the available energy.

The Balance Responsible Party (BRP) is responsible for maintaining the balance between demand and supply of electricity within their own portfolio. This means that a BRP must ensure that the electricity they purchase or produce corresponds exactly to the consumption of their customers or contractual obligations.

A BRP can be various types of market parties, such as:

  • Electricity producers – companies that generate and sell electricity.
  • Large consumers – industrial or commercial customers who can optimize their own consumption.
  • Energy suppliers – companies that supply electricity to end customers.
  • Traders – parties that trade electricity on the wholesale market.

By managing their balance portfolio effectively, BRPs avoid financial penalties for imbalances and contribute to the stability of the electricity grid. In collaboration with BSPs and grid operators, they ensure that production and consumption remain in balance at all times.

A Balancing Service Provider (BSP) is a party that supplies balancing capacity and/or balancing energy to the transmission system operator Elia. This means that a BSP makes electricity generation, storage, or consumer flexibility (such as industrial installations, battery systems, or heat pumps) available to correct unforeseen imbalances in the electricity grid.

Elia purchases this balancing capacity and can activate the balancing energy made available by the BSP at any time. This keeps the frequency of the electricity grid stable and maintains the balance between supply and demand.

BSPs play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability of the electricity grid, especially now that the share of variable renewable energy (such as wind and solar) is increasing. Their flexibility enables them to respond quickly to fluctuations in the grid and contribute to a stable and efficient energy market.

The distribution system operator (DSO, sometimes also referred to as DNB) is responsible for transporting electricity from the high-voltage grid to the end consumer, at voltage levels that are usually between 400 V and 70 kV.

DSOs ensure that households, businesses, and local production units (such as solar panels and small battery systems) are supplied with power safely and reliably. They manage the distribution network, carry out maintenance, switch networks in the event of faults, and facilitate the connection of new consumers or producers.

In addition, DSOs are playing an increasingly important role in smart grids and flexibility, for example by integrating local storage, demand response, and charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. In this way, they support the energy transition and the optimal use of renewable energy sources.

Open integrations and independent partnerships

Integrator van het systeem

Within Posetron, we strongly believe in openness and flexibility. The integration of our system is not limited to one specific provider, aggregator, or energy partner. On the contrary: we work independently of market parties and open our platform to connections with external parties within the energy trading and flexibility markets.

Thanks to this open architecture, we can integrate our system with various providers and aggregators active in, among other things, the imbalance market and FCR Up/Down. These include parties such as Yuso, Centrica, Scholt, Enwyse, and other players in the market. This allows our customers to retain maximum freedom and avoid vendor lock-in, while their installation can respond optimally to market prices and flexibility opportunities.

This approach allows us to select the most suitable partner for each project, tailored to the customer's profile, the type of installation, and the desired strategy within the energy markets. Posetron acts as the technical hub in this process: we ensure stable, secure, and high-performance integration of the energy system and the selected market party.

Strategic Partnership with Farmpower

Integrator in samenwerking met Farmpower

In addition to these open integrations, we are also building targeted partnerships. An important example of this is our collaboration with Farmpower, a platform that supports agricultural businesses in capitalizing on flexibility and energy production.

Within this partnership, we provide the technical integration and control of the BESS and energy installation, while Farmpower is responsible for market access, aggregation, and optimization within the energy trade. This creates a complementary partnership that brings together technology, market knowledge, and sector-specific expertise.

Through this combination of openness to external parties and targeted partnerships, Posetron offers its customers a future-oriented solution: flexible, scalable, and ready for an increasingly complex energy market.
